As we wanted our film to be a crime thriller set in a sort of gangster criminal underworld, we looked mostly at the work of Guy Ritchie. A director most well known for his crime thrillers that also manage to incorporate humour and detailed characters.
In particular we looked at the opening credits of his film 'Snatch' which uses still shots and edits as well as a narration to introduce the viewer to the characters. We thought this was a very effective way of introducing the characters of the film and is also something not done by many other directors making it a little more original.
Another film he is probably most famous for is his first film 'Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels' which also uses a narration over the slow motion shot to give a little information about the characters.
Finally Guy Ritchie's latest crime film before he moved onto making the new Sherlock Holmes film. 'Rock 'n' Rolla' follows in the footsteps of his other films, using the same features in the introduction, a narration voice over the scene whcih then cuts to still edits of the actors and the film title.

The features that Guy Ritchie uses in these three films have become very much like a signature of his work people associate it with Guy Ritchie, and as these films have become very famous for their take on the criminal world what better example of work can we look up to when creating our very own Crime Film.
